CONCERT REVIEW: MEN I TRUST
An overdue concert review but here it is.
For the past several years, I have a new found love of indie music. One band that I have really started to like is a Canadian indie rock band called “Men I Trust”. I heard them first from the song “Tree Amongst Shrubs” on a sound on TikTok and I looked them up on Spotify and started listening to the entire album, “Untourable Album”. Ever since then I have been a fan. The sound of Men I Trust is a great mix of ethereal music that is ambient, something that current indie music is like.
I saw their concert several months ago and was very surprised at how amazing they are live. The band that opened for them called Tops is also Canadian, and I was familiar with their music before with the track “Petals”.
When Men I Trust came on, it was a nonstop mellow concert. It was different from any other concert I’ve seen that were more theatrical, and more high energy. The set up was very simple, just the members of their band and their equipment. The very simple set up made the concert seem more real, raw, and intimate; which is what people look for indie concerts.
