FOOD SPOTLIGHT: LEMON& GINGER WATER

Now I’ve been drinking lemon and ginger water for at least decade!

I make sure that the first thing I drink in the morning is my fresh hot lemon and ginger water. When I do this combination in my morning water, the aroma of the fresh lemon balances and refreshes my body senses.

When you drink it consistently your body will look forward to and crave it when you miss it.


Now when you couple it with knowing that drinking your morning lemon ginger water it will aid in your digestion from the acids helping to break down the food. It is also helps with weight- loss; provides our body with a potassium boost; gives us a healthy dose of vitamin C; and can help prevent kidney stones.

The benefits of using ginger in your morning water - ginger is loaded with the antioxidant gingerols, which fights free radicals. In short you are saying hello to healthy glowing skin with an even skin tone. Another mind blowing benefit is that drinking ginger water can also tighten the skin and fight the various signs of ageing.

Tips to get started…..

  1. Purchase five lemons. Since you’re using one-half a lemon it should last you ten days. The price for lemons can range from $.50 to $.89 per lemon.

  2. Purchase ginger root. Look for roots that don’t look dry or dehydrated. Ginger can range from $3.99 for 8oz to $6.99 for 2lbs - and that’s organic.

  3. Slice your lemon in half. You will use one-half and then place the other half in a zip-lock bag in the refrigerator. You can squeeze your lemon or squeeze the lemon,and then put a few slices into your mug or glass.

  4. Wash your ginger root skin. Thinly slice your ginger root. When I slice the end I typically do not use that piece. Place a minimum of three slices into your favorite mug, or glass.

  5. Then add your water. It can be drank as a morning hot tea, or simply let it steep until the water is cool.
