FOOD SPOTLIGHT: GINGER REFRESHER
One of my favorite season-less drink is the Ginger Refresher. The crispness of sparkling water can carry you through the entire year. Ginger, Honey, Lemon, and Lime are all key ingredients to not only keep your gut healthy but to help stave off any illness.
This is super easy to create and will be enjoyed by even the most discerning guest.

People are shocked when I say that I hate watermelon. This grainy texture, the subtle sweetness, and somewhat musky smell has always made me sick. This drink is a way to make watermelon more palatable for people who do not like it. The end result is beyond delicious.

FOOD SPOTLIGHT: AFFOGATO
Affogato is one of my favorite desserts. It combines my two favorite items- coffee and ice cream plus it is super quick to make. On the days I want to be a little “healthier” I will substitute the ice cream for either gelato or frozen yogurt. Regardless of which option you choose, the end result is beyond delicious.

Sheperd’s Pie is a classic English dish. It has been personally one of my favorite comfort foods since I was a child. It is a little time consuming but the end result is beyond delicious.

Arepas is a dish very unique to the countries of South America, mainly parts of Venezuela and Colombia. It is more of a dense cornmeal cake that is comparable to an American hamburger and that can be whipped up so quickly.

FOOD SPOTLIGHT: DATES
For thousands of years, dates have been the staple of the Middle Eastern diet. Stemming from Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent from about 4000 B.C., this resilient fruit has truly stood the test of time. In Quranic texts, it is said that Maryam (as) the mother of Jesus(as) ate dates to ease the the pains of childbirth.

One of the most amazing foods is Dates. It provides electrolytes and it’s sweet enough to eat by itself.
