FOOD SPOTLIGHT: GINGER REFRESHER

One of my favorite season-less drink is the Ginger Refresher. The crispness of sparkling water can carry you through the entire year. Ginger, Honey, Lemon, and Lime are all key ingredients to not only keep your gut healthy but to help stave off any illness. It is quick and and a super efficient drink that is not only refreshing but healthy.

Ingredients

1 cup of cut ginger root

4 cups filtered drinking water

1 lime

2 tablespoons of honey

1 lemon

6 oz of sparkling water

The Method

First Step: In a blender (prefer KitchenAid Blender), put in the ginger, ice and water and blend until smooth. Then strain the mixture and put in the refrigerator to keep chill.

Second Step: Add the honey, lime, and lemon into the glass of your choosing then mix together well. Add the ginger puree to the glass and stir again. Last but not least add the sparkling water.

*smoother taste use a cocktail mixer to combine the honey, lime, lemon, and ginger puree. Add more ice if you prefer.
