STYLE SPOTLIGHT: HOW TO STYLE UGGS

One thing about me is I LOVEEEEE boots! I'm a self-confessed 'boot addict.' I have boots for my moods, style, flare for the avant-garde, and most importantly when I want to be uber comfy. My favorite boots that I've gotten resoled & patched multiple times are my Koolabura 'Lovin Life' with crosses Ugg boots. More recently I feel in love with my Ugg Tazz boots. Read on to see the best way to style! Enjoy!

So as I stated in my previous articles I’m a lover of Yves Saint Laurent. Since I was 13 I purchased items based on his quote, “Fashions fade, style is eternal.” To me this represents that trends come and go but style is the way to make a look unique and personal. So when I shop I buy for continuous wear regardless if it’s “in” (if you haven’t noticed everything comes back around and I don’t like wasting money - it’s the Accountant in me).

Now my first “Uggs” I ever bough were these Koolabura boots embellished with leather crosses and the words “Loviin Life.” I was 14 when I begged my parents to purchase them and they were on Sale for like $300 at Neiman Marcus back than and I just knew I’d wear them forever. Fast forward and I’ve had the boots for almost 2 decades and I can honestly say they are my ultimate cold weather shoe!

Since these are basically the tall classic Ugg boots my favorite way to wear these is with a blazer, skinny jeans and a mini- medium size purse.

Since the shoes are already such a statement and thicker and tall it’s important to make sure that someone’s eye only hits your shoulders and feet. This style combo works regardless of your height!.

The best about the Ugg Classic Tall Boot is that it’s the coziest and easiest design to slip into. They’re easy to drive in, cold-weather staple that are perfect when your traveling and running errands.

As I previously mentioned wearing a blazer, skinny jeans or even a cute knit are the best way to wear the classic tall boot. My favorite jeans are the
AG Maria highwasited straight leg jeans. These are a perfect dark wash that can tuck seamlessly into the boots but also elongates the legs for shorter boots like the UGG Tazz (I’ll get to that later). The best blazer is the Uniqlo Tweed Blazer. It’s perfectly oversized yet tailored and feminine. It makes even a sweatshirt looks elevated. The perfect cable knit is the Theory Wool-Cashmere Wool knit. It’s heavyweight yet light enough to be worn without a blazer or jacket.

Now the Ugg Mini Platform is very cute and has started to grow on me. Like I said earlier I’m tall and have long legs so I have to be careful where short boots hit so it doesn’t “cut me off.” That being said I wear the Ugg Mini Platform with straight leg jeans (on the slightly baggy side) or if I wear leggings than I wear contrasting socks and scrunch them down so that the eye keeps traveling up instead of just stopping at the ankle. I believe this style hack works regardless of height because we want to ALWAYS elongate the legs.

Now with the Ugg Mini Platform since my style is about elongating I make sure to also add a larger handbag more strutted large tote or hobo.

Now my ultimate ultimate favorite Uggs are the Tazz! I bought my first pair about 2 years ago on a whim because I liked the braided detail along the ankle. I loved how they were glorified slippers with a flatform. When I first got them my friends thought I was being totally avant-garde and crazy but then they blew up about 4 months later on TikTok. So that was def my hair flip moment. Like I said no matter what I purchase I try very hard to make sure I’m being intentional and I can wear for many years and winters.

So as the picture of me in my black Tazz I’m wearing my comfy sweat set. The reason it looks sleek is because I used a jogger. Tazz is a slipper and hits the ankle so it’s great it needs to be tapered or straight leg. If you go to skinny it can exaggerate your feet and make your outfit look clunky.
