STYLE SPOTLIGHT: LOUIS VUITTON SS25

If you’ve been apart of this community for a minute you know I do love a great bag. I have always loved Louis Vuitton. I know I'm about a month late with my review of the SS25 takeaways but it's because I wanted to see what 'timeless concepts' I could get instead of my natural 'impulse buying.' Nicolas Ghesquière does NOT disappoint. Read on to find out more!

Now you guys already know I’ve been loving this season’s new approach as I mentioned in my ode to the LV Lowkey Era. Nicolas Ghesquière for the past decade continues to reimagine Louis Vuitton while also staying true to the heritage which is why I always get excited to see what he comes up with!

Now the irony about me is that I appreciate the art and the creativeness behind the creations and the history BUT I’ve never been one to like crowds so being at the fashion show has never been my idea of a good time. My lack of desire for fashion shows does not diminish my appreciation for each collection.

Now the biggest trends I saw in the SS25 were: modernizing of the 80s, ethereal dressing, bold colors and prints, and the reimagining of iconic handbags while also getting a taste of a new cross between the classic speedy and an old school doctor bag.

I probably sound like a broken record BUT I love shopping for reasonless and timelessness. With the SS25 we saw the modernization of the 80s (power suit and very Dallas-esq). On a practical level how irked would you be if you told your mom to throw out her 80s closes and you now have nothing to work with!? I’m very happy with this style trend coming back into the forefront because my favorite 80s blazers come from Escada and YSL. 80s items from Louis Vuitton come in luggage and handbags.

Which brings me to the BEST part of the SS25 show the handbags! Now what excited me the most is because the reimagining of the speedy in an exotic skin or jewel encrusted bag. What this showed to me is that if you own a piece of Louis Vuitton no matter what decade you should be proud! What is even easier is that you can adorn the handbag with charms or straps from Louis Vuitton.
