WELLNESS OVERLOAD
From magazines, newspapers, or scrolling Instagram…we are met with information, Influencers, as well as advice on the full-proof way to live, what to eat and take to have the healthiest existence.
What I have come to realize is that once you carve out time in your day to - meditate; journal; do a morning workout of 20 minutes; a morning hike, or walk to reach your daily step goal of 10,000; make your morning smoothie, oats, or spirulina bowl; the non negotiable infrared sauna session; and taking our supplements- which means staying up on the latest most potent vitamins and supplements on the market that we all need to take.
Then next we have our face rituals, with the products, and gadgets for our morning and nighttime routines. All we are promised is necessary to maintain that ageless inner healthy glow.
Yes, everyone’s intention is to live a life that embodies optimum health - feeling our best every day, being healthy in our minds, and physical bodies. And having Pure Joy in our lives.
Yet, when you take a step back, and change our perception from this long list of musts and do’s; you are overwhelmed by all that we must have and do within 24 hours - with no mention of the time needed to work, nor sleep.
What it comes down to is to know you, and what are your non-negotiables. Do not allow yourself to be swept away with the ‘honest, heartfelt, authentic ‘Influencer’s’ pitch, other media, and social platforms.
There is no possible way to get this all done in your 24-hour day, then add in working, taking care of home, and other responsibilities. The goal is not to get us caught in guilt, beating ourselves up, or just feeling less then.
What we can do is to select from this never unfolding list, and then fit it into our non-negotiables. Every person’s non-negotiables are different, mine will not be the same for anyone else. We are different people, different health goals and challenges, as well different genetic makeup.
What we do know for sure is that everyone needs - to drink enough water daily; get adequate restful sleep; eat a healthy balanced clean whole food diet; take responsibly sourced supplements and vitamins to supplement what we no longer get from our food; daily meditation, and/or mindful breathing; and daily physical movement.
The key is to fit this into your daily agenda. What I do know is that this will come with some experimentation, meaning you will know what just doesn’t work in your life. But what does work for you is the key to implement into your daily life. More importantly that which doesn’t let it go without any guilt or trepidation.
Have fun on this personal, and real journey. Remember you are not comparing you, or your life to anyone else’s life. We are here to make our lives the very best. Because you’re not like anyone else, you’re uniquely you. And that is the best!
