REVIEW: SMYTHSON A5 PORTFOLIO
If you know me then you know I love British Fashion. I like to say I’m tapping into my great-grandfather’s British roots. It was my time in the UK while at University that I truly appreciated the British fashion. One of my favorite Houses is Smythson. My A5 portfolio from Smythson is one of my biggest splurges since adulthood and it gets better with age. Read on to find out why!
For as long as I could remember, I have always struggled with organization and staying consistent with writing notes and schedules. I decided to invest in a notebook that I would make sure that I used it consistently due to the price and quality of it. As a Anglophile, I looked no further to Smythson.
Since 1887, Smythson has been synonymous with well crafted English made leather goods and stationary. With goods fit for a king, it currently holds a royal warrant and exclusively makes stationary and leather goods for the royal family.
With this in mind, I made the choice to invest in the A5 Writing Folder. This amazingly luxurious notebook has incredibly buttery smooth leather with the famous Panama texture with seemingly hand finished stitches around the edges. At first I was afraid to use it and almost babied it due to wanting to make sure it kept its’ amazing brand new look. Since it is high quality leather, I knew it would even get better with use and age. Whether I was jotting down notes, taking it to meetings, or just throwing it in a tote bag or backpack, it quickly became an everyday staple. With personalized initials on the notebook for just $27, the notebook came to just about $400. And with over a year of use, I see this being in my bag many years from now.
