STYLE SPOTLIGHT: LV LOW KEY ERA

If you’ve been apart of this community for a minute you know I do love a great bag. More importantly I love designs that are avant-garde yet understated. I have always loved Louis Vuitton. Even though the Maison is synonymous with the LV Monogram I’ve always enjoyed the Epi Leather and Marina lines. Now I will say those lines haven’t always had the most consistent styles as compared to their monogram counterparts. It’s like the Louis Vuitton Gods heard my prayers and we’ve entered the “Low Key Era.” Read on to find out more!

Louis Vuitton’s “Low Key Era” I feels is the rival we’ve all been waiting for to Hermès. I’m not talking about popularity or design ingenuity because both Houses do that well for their clientele. I’m referring to the forgotten clients - the ones who love a good leather bag with funky design, color, and functionality but don’t want a neon sign saying how much they paid for the bag.

Even though the minimalist and “quiet luxury” trend is having its moment; for people like myself it’s not a trend but it’s truly a personality trait. I think it comes from being shy and not wanting attention. Yet you buy items you like that bring you joy and don’t want to be judged by what you choose to buy or not buy.

Louis Vuitton first started this era with the “Low Key Hobo.” I’m not going to lie I love a hobo I can literally put EVERYTHING IN. I love the suppleness of the leather and suede inside and how it comes in tan, black and a mint green color in the MM size.

You see the Low Key being implemented in other styles like the Coussins and Capucines. Not in design obviously but in color choices. I’m so proud to see the Maison giving clients that like to be more low key true fashion forward options so we don’t have to look at other houses like Bottega or Hermès.

The best thing about the Low Key design is that they’re timeless and seasonless. So if you decide to invest in these bags you know you can wear them 24/7 everyday for years or until you get sick of your purchase. That’s my favorite way to shop!

Now if you don’t want to make the huge investment of purchasing a “low key” bag, Louis Vuitton has done a great job offering more accessories in marina and epi leather! I love the coin purse because it doubles as a card case.
