Sometimes the best things can be found in the most random of places. Whether it is something you have been looking for, or something that you didn’t know you needed. De Babel, a Middle-Eastern eatery located in Scottsdale, Arizona is one of those places. A no frills restaurant, that specializes in kabobs and pitas. In the review, I will be reviewing all of the things I have ordered and tell you what should be your go to order.

Chicken and lamb Shawarma

The issue I have always had with shawarma is how either incredibly dry it can be, or overtly greasy and over salted. With De Babel’s shawarma, they have the perfect balance of seasoning and moistness of the shawarma. That teamed up with a remarkable filling of Arab style pickles, onions, freshly mashed hummus, and garlic sauce encased in the best pita I have ever had, is truly awe-inspiring.

Lamb Tikka

This my personal favorite and my first order I had from De Babel. Nice sized cubes of super tender lamb, grilled to perfection. This perfectly seasoned cubes of lamb, that are crisp on the outside, but in some magical way melt in your mouth, is the best sandwich I have had in this state. That with mounds of fresh hummus and veggies, inside their famous fresh pillowy pita. This with their homemade shatta (Arab hot sauce) is a match made in heaven ( and don't forget a laban/yogurt drink on the side).

In conclusion, the best sandwich to have is all of them. Whether you get one of their well crafted sandwich, or their balanced and wholesome plates, you will not be be let down by any of their menu items.
