I’ve been a fan of Katt Williams ever since I could remember. From the Pimp Chronicles standup, to his role in Friday After Next, he has always been a truly one of a kind and a stand out character. His outspoken and Pimp Persona, has turned a more niche and underground lifestyle, into a humorous avenue of comedy. His recent interview with Shannon Sharpe. Read on to find out why!

2024 started off with a bang. With not even 2 weeks in, there has been a multitude of current events in both the global stage and society that have been very brow raising to say the least.

When scrolling through TikTok, I ran across a clip of the comedian Katt Williams, speaking with Shannon Sharpe, on his show “Shay Shay Club”. From just the first clip, I was incredibly invested in what Williams had to say. Without spoiling or giving too much out for the interview, he spoke of different comedians, and pop culture icons that have recently had controversy.

Since late last year and going into 2024, there has been a multitude of claims about the infamous producer and rapper P. Diddy for instances of sexual abuse. From his ex wife and associates, there has been many people coming forward. Due to his name and influence, people have been reluctant to come forward until now. Katt Williams who is known for his outrageous and bigger than life “pimp” persona, was by no means in a joking mood in his interview.

Years ago when Katt Williams got into that fight with that teenager and lost, he was the butt of many jokes. That and a host of other legal issues he ran into, people suspected him to be either on or addicted to drugs. In the interview he addressed that he has never been on or tried a hard drug in his life. In hindsight, it seemed as though it was a way to discredit anything he says.

And from what he was saying in the interview, from the moment he went into entertainment, he made it a mission for him to expose people. For me it, it seemed that all the speculation, hearsay,  and buzz about different people in society that people have come out to say they have done heinous acts has come to a head, and Katt Williams was the very unlikely orator to speak on these matters.

Overall, it was a riveting interview, and I applaud Shannon Sharpe for giving social media and even the world this provocative content. Whether it was due to Williams’ brilliant storytelling, or the provocative nature of the content, it was something we didn’t know we needed but ultimately got.
