FOOD SPOTLIGHT: AFFOGATO

On the weekends when I usually have more time, I try to treat myself to more extravagant or specialty foods and drinks. One in particular that has always been my go to that is quick, easy, and incredibly satisfying is the simple affogato. A tantalizing mixture of espresso and gelato or ice cream that replaces the monotony of creamer or milk.

Ingredients

Espresso coffee ground (I use café bustelo)

Your favorite gelato or ice cream


The Method

Whether you are using your Kuerig, stovetop espresso maker (which is what I use), or from an actual espresso machine; make 2 shots of espresso

Take your favorite ice cream and put it in the bottom of your favorite coffee cup.

Once espresso is finished brewing, just pour it over and enjoy.
