How would you introduce yourself to people who are unaware of you?
I’m Lisa Kon, a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur, nail trendsetter, and the owner of two premium salons—one in Beverly Hills and one in Studio City. My brand, Lisa Kon, specializes in high-quality nail materials, tools, and equipment, with a focus on Russian manicures. I’m passionate about innovation in the nail industry and creating elegant, long-lasting results for clients, including many celebrities.
You’re known as the top Russian Manicurist and Nail Trendsetter. What do you foresee as the biggest nail trends in 2025? Why do you think the Russian Manicure has become such a staple?
In 2025, I foresee trends leaning toward natural and elegant nail shapes, such as almond and soft square, paired with minimalist designs, textured accents, and elevated neutrals. People want nails that are sophisticated but low-maintenance.
The Russian manicure has become a staple because of its precision, cleanliness, and the flawless finish it delivers. It’s not just a manicure; it’s a meticulous art form that provides long-lasting, polished results.
What are your tips for a healthy mindset?
Focus on balance. I believe in finding time for self-care, setting clear goals, and surrounding yourself with people who inspire and support you. Gratitude and persistence also play a huge role in maintaining a positive outlook.
I love how you have your place Lisa Kon Beverly Hills. You also have your own line of nail products. What made you take the leap to design your own products? What is one staple from your line everyone should own?
Starting my own line came from a desire to provide my clients and professionals with high-quality materials I could trust. It was also an opportunity to bring my vision and experience into products that make a difference.
One must-have product from my line is our ultra-pigmented gel polishes. They’re durable, easy to apply, and perfect for both professionals and home users.
What is your personal favorite nail color?
For myself, 99% of the time, I choose a sheer nude shade that blends perfectly with my natural nail. I also love a matte finish. These two combinations make my nails look flawless, yet as if there’s nothing on them at all.
No one has a smooth journey. What was the most pivotal part in your journey? Did you ever feel like quitting?
The most pivotal part of my journey was opening my first salon. It was both exciting and intimidating, but it taught me resilience and how to turn challenges into opportunities. Yes, there were moments when I felt overwhelmed, but my passion for what I do always pushed me forward.
What are your 3 staples of clothing that make you feel your most confident?
I love comfortable clothing that also highlights my feminine figure.
My top 3 would be high-waisted wide-leg jeans, fitted tops/sweaters, and oversized blazers or knitwear.
What are you most excited about for 2025?
I’m excited to expand my brand, introduce more educational content for aspiring nail artists, and bring innovative products to the market. It’s going to be a year of growth and creativity.
What are some of the most rewarding parts of your job?
Seeing the confidence and happiness my clients feel after a service is incredibly rewarding. I also love mentoring my team and watching them grow professionally.
Last & most fun question! What is your favorite way to unwind?
A game of tennis followed by a cozy evening with my family. It’s the perfect mix of activity and relaxation.
