BEAUTY SPOTLIGHT: SKIN LAUNDRY
As a skin care junkie I LOVE finding sustainable and effective ways to aide my skincare. In addition, having eczema and rosacea it makes finding a great facial that doesn’t agitate my skin and have an adverse effect. Growing up Ole Henriksen was my esthtician mixed with my Dermatologist Dr. Keith. Since I’ve been traveling more I was looking for a company that had multiple locations and even global. Growing up I was blessed with amazing Dermatologist, Estheticians, and skincare regimen. It was easier to maintain my appointments because I was at home more often and really only traveled extensively during the summer. In recent years I find I’m traveling not only in the summer but at least once a month with work. 90% when I’m in work mode I focus on self-care but just my at home regimen with my non-negotiable with my Dermatologist.
Last year I was doing research and I stumbled across Skin Laundry. It’s the Dermatologist created laser facials with very little downtime and the facials are administered via RN. At first when I read it I thought it was too good to be true and I’m a creature of habit so I was very nervous to try something new. I asked my Dermatologist what they thought about adding the laser facial into my regimen to aide my skincare. My Dermatologist said they’d heard good things but to make sure the laser wasn’t to high as with my melanin could cause damage.
I took that as a half-approval. I was very nervous when I went into the Biltmore, AZ location but instantly felt at ease. Skin Laundry was originally created in Santa Monica, California. The reason I selected the Biltmore, AZ location is because they have a full face skincare scanner (looks like an Ophthalmologist machine) and it gives you a full comprehensive scan of yhor skin. Now they use harsh lighting and the pictures aren’t flattering BUT they are super informative and helpful. I wasn’t surprised to see my elasticity was very high due using my YhorlifeEssentials serums, moisturizers, and balms. I knew my pores were also a little larger after I had tried another facial spot and it turned out to be to aggressive for my skin.
I went with the ‘Signature Laser Facial’ and it states there is no downtime and only last 15 minutes. I was even more skeptical at how effective let alone if I would see any difference. I am so happy to say I was beyond impressed! With the ‘Signature Laser Facial’ you wear the goggles and the RN goes over each area of yhor face 4 times. It’s a very unique feeling but they will give you a stress ball. Instantly, I felt my skin feel more taught and it looked like my usual glass skin but elevated! I was so happy.
I waited the 10 days to try the ‘Thermo Fractional Facial’- this one is also a 15 minute facial. The ‘Thermo Fractional Facial’ mimics micro needling but the downtime is a few days and more controlled due to the heat creating the micro channels. Now this facial you look like you got sun burnt right after but still amazing feeling. During this facial it does feel like a stapler going into yhor skin but after the first area it doesn’t feel bad at all.
The after care after the facial is super simple! With the ‘Signature Laser Facial’ I used YholifeEssentials Cleansing Balm and Mahib Te Serum 24 hours after the facial. I waited 2 days to put on any tinted moisturizer. With the ‘Thermo Fractional Facial’ due to the more intense nature of this facial I put Mahib Te on my face every hour for the first 6 hours after the facial. In addition I put one of the Skin Laundry’s hydration sheet mask in the fridge for 5 minutes and put on my face in the first 6 hours to calm the skin. I used the Mahib Te Serum for 3 days and after the 3rd day I started back using the YhorlifeEssentials Luna Facial Serum due to the active init-aging ingredients.
