BEAUTY SPOTLIGHT: DIOR LIMITED EDITION LUNAR NEW YEAR LIPSTICK

Any chance to celebrate removing the bad & old and bringing in the good and new, I love. That’s why I get so excited to celebrate (in a small way) Lunar New Year. This year I was so excited that Dior Beauty not only has great colors but also a dreamy starry box designed by Pietro Ruffo. Read on to find out why I love these new Dior Beauty Lunar New Year Lipsticks!

My obsession with Dior Beauty started when I was 16. I was in search for a “normal” mascara that wouldn’t irritate or inflame my eyes or irritate my eczema. The vegan brands at the time were to flaky and changed colors and very little intensity. I tried Dior’s Diorshow Mascara and never looked back. It was intense and didn’t agitate my skin which I loved. Every year I look forward to Dior Beauty’s Holiday Collections. So when the Lunar New Year Lipsticks dropped I was very excited to see!

The Lunar New Year Rouge Dior Collection has 2 types of finishes- satin and velvet. In addition, it is hydrating and enhances the natural lip so well and I don’t have to re-apply for like 24 hours! It’s like a glorified lip stain and I just add my YhorlifeEssentials Liebe Magie balm to enhance the lipstick throughout the day but the color stays.

Personally, I love a velvet finish because I love a more matte look that I can play if I want more sheen with my balm. The 2 colors I selected were 720 Icone Velvet & 722 Classic Rosewood Velvet. These colors are perfect for day to night seamless transition which I’m all about. I love how you can layer both lipsticks on top of each other and they compliment each other so nicely and a more intense yet muted natural red lip.

What really blew me away for this Lunar New Year Collection was the packaging. Created by artist Pietro Ruffo it’s a dreamy and starry box fused with constellations, flowers and just evoking of pure magic.

The lipsticks are truly just couture the lipsticks are designed in a pattern of the Dior fabric so every time you use the lipstick you feel like yhor adding more goodness to yhor day!

Now this Lunar New Year collection is not reasonable. Priced at $49 I think selecting a universal color as yhor base is the best option and then you can mix balms or lipliners to update/ enhance the look. My favorite color and selection would be the 722 Classic Rosewood velvet finish because it is great as a base for all skin types and you can wear to work without looking overdressed but still polished.
