BEAUTY SPOTLIGHT: COLLAGEN & GREEN JUICE

It is known that I believe in aging gracefully. That has to encompass good skin health which is external and internal , and a good skincare regimen. My new internal skincare health boost is juicing. I juice Collagen and my Greens together in my masticating juicer. If I tell you this is simply the pretty bow on the box. Oh! And this combination tastes sooo good. This compliments my topical skincare health regimen, and this combination is everything.

All you will need to get started…

2.5lbs of Celery

3 Cucumbers - Large

1 Pineapple- Sliced into Spears

3 Red Apples

1 Lemon - Large

1 Ginger - Medium to Large size

3 Carrots    - Large

Collagen is and will always be the center stage, and focus point to keeping my skin tight, lifted and hydrated.

As the seasons change I start thinking what changes I can make to support my skin and health as the weather changes.

What fruit and veggies  can I include in my fresh juice to support my immune system; and above all else give me a strong dose of Collagen. With a side of healthy hydration for my skin.

Of course we apply our collagen and hydration topically to keep our skin tight and glowing. We loose a nice amount from about twenty five years on. My topical go to’s are YL Mahib Mer, and YL Mahib Te to do the job. But I know for sure that the most effective way is to also hit my dose of collagen from the inside as well.

A strong dose of Vitamin C is the number one key for Collagen production. So, I make sure my fruits and veggies come with a strong dose of Vitamin C.

I keep my juice base celery and cucumber. Celery is always my base to give me a good dose of vitamin C and Folate. Also to control inflammation, high blood pressure, and to support my  gut health. It improves my digestion, and Folate intake.

Cucumbers are a non-negotiable in my juice. I can count on cucumbers to provide my skin with hydration, which I need especially in the Fall and Winter months. Cucumbers also contain vitamin B-5, which  helps with acne.

Also, Cucumbers contain vitamins A, C, D, and K, as well as calcium and magnesium - which helps with any inflammation in my body. Cucumbers also contain vitamin K, which helps my body form proteins for healthy bones and tissues. And then we have our second dose of vitamin C from our cucumbers.

Also, cucumbers have potassium, which is good for cardiovascular health.

Next I add in a  two to three large carrots. They contain high levels of Vitamin A, which helps improve and maintain eye health.

Besides providing the coveted dose of Collagen, Vitamin C improves cell health. Including your white blood cells, which fights infections in your body. Vitamin C also helps your body absorb iron, which allows you to produce healthy blood, which is good for your heart, and can improve your overall energy levels.

Another added bonus is that carrots are filled with antioxidants. Which are nutrients that reduce the free radicals in our body.

I also toss in several pieces of ginger and lemons into my juice. With the ginger I really decide the amount by how I’m feeling. Remember it’s a strong flavor. Yet ginger is good for providing help with any inflammation that I might be feeling in my body. It also helps my immunity and inflammation that I can feel in my body.

Lastly, I throw in a couple of red apples, because the benefits can’t be ignored - In particular red apples.

Polyphenolic found in red apples may play a big role in our health. It’s been shown that Red Delicious apples are higher in these compounds than many other types of apples. The vast majority of nutrition lies in the skin of the apple. So, make sure that you juice with the skin on.

Apple peels are rich in antioxidants, most notably Quercetin; and a good source of fiber, which helps with digestion. And apples are about 85% water, making them a hydrating ingredient.

When you throw in lemons you are again giving a boost for your immune system; and of course Vitamin C!

Okay … I swear this is the last ingredient- Pineapple! Not only does it give you a dose of Vitamin C and other nutrients it also promotes tissue healing. But that is not the best thing … it’s the sweet taste it gives to your green juice.

Drinking your own special blend of green juice is enough to make you smile from the inside out. You know without a doubt you are doing good for Yhor body from the inside. Juice and enjoy!
